To begin the organization process you first need to know what is in there. Haul out everything and create several piles. Make piles for individual categories such as window screens, tools, holiday decorations, clothing, memorabilia, pottery, toys and other items. Once you have it all in separate piles it is time to sort through each item and determine its value. Give away or throw out items that no longer have any practical use or sentimental value. Clean It Up

Before you begin the organizing process take time to consider how to spruce it up and make it look really nice. You can do anything these days to a garage. It can be plain or fancy. Create an Organizing System
Organization is key to getting the most use from your garage. Select a system that includes storage shelves, racks, cabinets and containers. Install shelving strategically so that it is neat and practical.
Label and Arrange
To keep better track of stored items print out labels and apply to storage containers. You could also make label plaques to hang in each section. Place items in storage containers and arrange the containers on and around the installed shelving. You now have an organized garage.
